The Funny Thing about a Peculiar Peanut

I think it’s safe to ask, why would she name her blog after a nut? Or if we are being technical and possibly more peculiar, a legume. Let’s dig-in. Pun intended.

But first, a brief history lesson. I find this particular legume’s story to be quite intriguing. The peanut originated in South America 3,500 years ago (that’s an old nut!) and has had transformed its way through the centuries for different uses. From peanut shaped vases dating back to 1500 B.C. to that classic PB&J sandwich you’re probably craving right now, this little nut has been through it all. It is my hope that the lifestyle tips I share with you in this blog will be transformative from my life to yours, much like this peculiar legume’s history.

So, I guess your wondering what the actual reasoning was for this peculiar name—well, the nub between two peanut halves is an embryo, which I guess is where I come in.

The name “peanut” actually all started with a little charismatic bundle of joy, the best gift my parents could have asked for at 40, me, of course. My size as a child alluded to this nickname, and hizahh, forever more I was dubbed the everlasting name of “peanut”. And as I grew, my peculiarity blossomed and ‘weird’ became a very genuine characteristic of my personality, thus the peculiar peanut, as unique as it is, is very fitting.

There you have it, how I came up with my name. HOWEVER, I’d be fibbing if I said my explanation ended there.

The bottom line is I love sharing life and life advice with people. And while I spent many hours searching for the perfect and most compelling blog name using word generators, engaging in brainstorming sessions with friends and contemplating the most intriguing names, I just couldn’t quite make a decision on what to choose. And then it happened, I started to let go of trying to stuff all my expectations of the coolest, most amazing, unicorn-like blog name ever into a few words; I remembered why I desired the dream of starting a blog so badly. If I was going to start sharing life with people, then I better share a little part of me too. Isn’t that funny, that you can search high and low for answers to a problem, but sometimes the answer is right there in front of you the whole time? Sometimes all we need to do is let go of our high expectations and let go of the fear of failure and enjoy the dream a little more.

I invite you to let go and put your hands up on this rollercoaster ride called life and take a chance with me as I share all the fun, helpful, and peculiar tips, tricks and things that can help us live life together a little better and a little easier.

      Hi Winston,

I really appreciate the offer, it seems like you are incredibly knowledgeable in marketing! However, I am actually an advertising/marketing degree and already have a marketing plan in place and I am also slowly starting to roll out a bigger plan across social media.

I wish you the best of luck, if I hear someone who is in need of some assistance, I’d be happy to refer you, do you have a portfolio website that I could direct them to?

      Best,
      JoAnna
