My name is JoAnna and welcome to The Peculiar Peanut, a digital destination for all things wellness. From journaling, organizing, and DIYing to self care, beauty, and recipes. This is your spot for all things lifestyle that contribute to your everyday wellness.
I was born and raised in the burbs of PA, and moved to Philadelphia for college and have been here ever since pursuing a career in graphic design. I started this website as a desire to fulfill a lifelong dream of helping others, whether it be sharing an easy DIY project, an interior design suggestion, to sharing my latest lipstick obsession or sharing how tips on how to have a relaxing self care spa night.
On this blog I will share wellness tips, recipes, DIY crafts, product suggestion and reviews, and my favorite travel hot spots. My motto is dedicated to being a positive force in the world and on the web. I try to do this by keeping my site focused on positivity and encouragement. My goal is to inspire you to travel more, worry less, eat decadently and make new things, maybe saving a little money in the process.
Cheers to doin’-it-yourself, dreaming big, exploring life, continuous learning, falling down, getting back up, enjoying the small moments, embracing the big ones, and above all else, living life a little easier and better.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What inspired the name The Peculiar Peanut?
My family has always been a huge part of my life, they’ve encouraged me every step of the way. As a baby, I was small in size so they called me “peanut” and as an adult I think being a little weird sets you apart from the rest. Combining my roots with a quirky part of my personality sounded like the perfect recipe for the name of a personal lifestyle blog.
How do you edit your photos?
I use photoshop to make graphics and add text to pictures but I usually edit photos using lightroom.
How did you learn to take photos?
I went to school for design, but I still do research—anyone can learn to be a great photographer, invest in a good quality camera and then do your research! Think photography books, websites, blogs, etc.
Do you accept guest posts?
